Parking and Access
Parking and Access
There’s plenty of parking throughout downtown and easily accessible from various points. Some of our downtown garages offer free parking, there are many, low-cost parking lots available throughout Downtown. Please note that the County Garage on Calhoun Street will be implementing a $10 per car fee for special events. Remember to come Downtown early to beat the traffic crunch!
Please review all of your parking options at www.FortWorthParking.com – search, “PARADE OF LIGHTS.”
Trinity Railway Express (TRE) and TexRail
The Trinity Railway Express (TRE) and Trinity Metro TEXRail will be running this year, a courtesy arrangement with Trinity Metro and DART Transit. (TRE) and TEXRail will be available from points north and east to the Fort Worth Central Station – TRE will run a special schedule available for Parade-goers. Certain Trinity Metro bus routes will have extended hours on Sunday. Be sure to ride the new Dash to Downtown!
Attendees are encouraged to arrive in downtown early to avoid traffic congestion. Streets and highway ramps, including Spur 280 from Interstate 35, will begin to close as early as 4:00 p.m. Please note that due to Parade Route configuration, Belknap Street, Henderson Street and North Main Streets will remain open to traffic during the parade. Weatherford Street from Henderson Street to Throckmorton Street will close at 12:00 Noon for staging purposes.
Determine where you would like to sit along the route, and then approach from that direction into Downtown. Try to stay on the side of your viewing area and do not attempt to drive all the way through Downtown to get to your seats. Come in FROM that side. There are plenty of streets accessing Downtown, and you do NOT have to come in Spur 280. Use the attached map to to help you plan your arrival into Downtown, and turn off your GPS unit.
There are great parking areas in each of the quadrants of the Downtown Parade Zone. DO NOT PARK AT BAGGED METERS. More parking information available from www.fortworthparking.com.
