The GM Financial Parade of Lights is a light-filled parade through the #1 Downtown in the U.S.A. We typically seek a variety of float and special effect entries, including bands, groups and individuals, to participate including schools, competitive dance groups, arts and cultural groups, musical groups, individuals, and families.

We look for creativity, originality and, most of all…incredible lighting, wonderful music and awesome special effects! The more creative the entry, the better the chance of acceptance and of making this parade one of the most creative in all of Texas. The success of the Parade of Lights has been based on the originality and artistic creation of our floats and entries, and on the spectacular use of lights and special effects has set this parade apart.

If you are interested in participating in the parade in 2024, please email us at [email protected]

Here are three great ways to Participate in the 2023 GM Financial Parade of Lights:

  • Enter a Unit – Each year, we look for illuminated motorized and towed floats, human powered floats, walking units, sculptural units, costumes/masks entries, walking units, performance units and bands, automotive and other motorized units. Lights, special effects…music! Applications for the 2023 parade are currently closed.
  • Purchase seats for your entire family, or purchase a block of seats and celebrate the holidays Downtown with employees, clients or other guests. Seat sales begin August 15, 2023.
  • Volunteer!  The parade and our afternoon activities wouldn’t happen without our hundreds of dedicated volunteers, needed to walk in the parade, help with staging…and more!  Our online signup form will be available August 1, 2023.

We are focused more than ever on the quality of our entries.  Thousands of people from around the Metroplex join us downtown, some purchasing front row seats, and our float participants provide the show!
